Program Implementation, Management, & Evaluation

I can help you develop or evaluate public health or clinical programs. My expertise includes survey design and implementation, statistical analysis, primary and secondary research, and more. I have worked on projects for universities, nonprofits, and government agencies seeking to help communities at a variety of income levels to eat healthier diets and improve their health. See below for specific examples of past projects. Contact me to share more about your needs and goals so that I can provide a list of services and prices tailored to your organization.

Survey Design & Analysis

I completed my concentration rotation during my dietetic internship with the Teaching Kitchen Collaborative. I developed and implemented a survey of the teaching kitchens in the Boston area to better understand their impact and opportunities for improved collaboration to better impart basic culinary skills upon their students as well as developed a map for professional and public audiences.

For The Lexicon, I conducted interviews and surveys for leaders throughout the fields of nutrition and healthcare. I then analyzed transcripts to deduce and write about common themes and emerging opportunities for food and nutrition in healthcare. I since served as a judge to bring the Foodicons initiative to fruition.

Program Evaluation

For my MPH capstone project, I developed an evaluation plan for UC Berkeley’s new campus nutrition policy, which sought to improve the food systems on campus. I worked with the lead dietitian in University Health Services to conduct a needs assessment, complete a literature review, acquire the necessary data, develop the plan for statistical analysis, and more. It is currently being used to evaluate the new policy.

I also worked with a team of students and staff to develop each a worksite wellness plan for UC Davis and an evaluation plan for a healthy corner store initiative in Berkeley.

Implementation

My current work in programming (including development of curriculum and strategy for implementation) largely focuses in culinary medicine, for private practitioners as well as large systems, through Rewire Health—read more about our services on the company’s website.

In the past, my fellow members of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Council on Research Implementation Subcommittee and I developed a practical manual to assist nutrition practitioners with implementing evidence-based practice recommendations and clinical practice innovations into daily practice. Our diverse areas of expertise built upon one another to develop and disseminate this important resource. We also published a 2021 article in JAND about implementation science and frameworks that can be used by dietitians to encourage systematic uptake of evidence into practice.
